Building the Lego R2-D2
Helego! Last week it was my best friend's birthday and he got
THE Lego R2-D2! I went to his house today and spent 1h and 30min to 2h
working on it! This set has over 2000 pieces so it's really long to do. I
was really excited to be able to be part of this build because it is a
hard to find set and I will probably never have it. Check out the video
here:

Lego winter scenery
Helego! In the start of the month of December, the month of Christmas, I thought I would start it by making a little scenery. Just a little thing to start off the month on CD's Lego Blog. Lot's of things are coming up in the month of December on the blog. Enjoy!

New Galaxy Squad theme!
Helego! These days we are starting to see the new 2013 Lego theme
Galaxy Squad. It's kind of weird because this is being released very
early by Lego. I just watched the brickshow's two first reviews of sets
from the theme and it absolutely looks amazing!
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these sets. My favourite one so far is the Space Swarmer.
I think it looks amazing. One thing I love is what you get for the
price! It's only about a 12$ set and you get two great minifigures, a good
number of weapons and the spaceship is awesome! I really like the concept
of this theme to. The fact that the enemies are alien bugs makes a completely
new type of minifigures and I think Lego made a great job on them. Next
time I'm out to buy a Lego for myself ( which will probably be in a
while because Christmas is coming up ), I'm probably going to get the
Space Swarmer. I just like it so much. Also the colours of the pieces are
not very common! You get lot's of purple, pink and light green bricks.
That is very cool!

Scary October monster #4
Helego! This is the last of the monsters. This time it's the Ghost!
The
ghost lives in the haunted house with all his other monster friends.
Nobody knows why he is a ghost or his story. He never wants to talk about
it. The only thing people know is that he is forced to go around
carrying a ball-chain attached to him. His favourite thing to do is scare
people.

Scary October monster #3
Helego! This is the third monster from the scary October series! This one is called the zombie dwarf!
As you can see, he has red eyes, green skin and a very long orange beard. His story is very simple. Before he became a zombie, he was just happily mining. One day, he destroyed a rocky wall and inside was a new cave with zombies in them! He didn't have time to escape and became a zombie and is now trapped with all the other ones.
I hope you like this custom monter I did!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! Today is THE day! I am so excited! In about an hour,
I will go trick or treating! I hope you get lot's of candy! But first,
here are some safety Lego tips:
1. Make sure to avoid these monsters because they are very dangerous
2. Avoid houses that look like this because often, that is were the monsters live!
3. And finally, just make sure to have fun, have an awesome costume and get lot's of candy!

Lego Haunted House MOC
Helego! With Halloween almost here, I really wanted to build something spooky. So I made a Haunted house!
At
first, I wasn't so sure how I would do it because as you know, haunted
houses are usually dark and scary and as you know Lego bricks are very
colourful. So I had to use dark colours like black and grey. The problem
is, I don't have a lot of those colours. I have more of the blue, red,
yellow and white. But then I thought, it doesn't matter if I don't have
all square and rectangular pieces because haunted houses are always old
and broken! So I used this advantage by just taking the black bricks I had and placing them a way so that they would work. So there are
holes and cracks in the walls and roof. It makes the house look very
old. Perfect! Here are some pictures of the different sides but there isn't a
back so that you can see the inside.
As
you can see this is the front. You can see arches which
look like they were supposed to go on the whole top of the door but they
look really old and destroyed. I like that.
This
is the first side. It is the side on the right if you are looking at
the front of the house. You can see a big crack on the side and some
broken shutters.
On this side you can tell that it is a bit broken and there is vegetation growing on it since it is so old.
Here is a better view of the house and you can see the broken roof much better.
So now for the outside detail. You can see on the right the vampire I built at the make and take event that is used as a statue. You can see two other monsters; a ghost (from the ghost and grandfather clock polybag) and a small weird monster. Beside the door there is a torch and a bit further there is a live pumpkin!
Now for the inside! All the monsters you see live in the haunted house! Inside there is The Pumpkin Head Archer and Groll the Evil Troll! Also, there is the grandfather clock, another live pumpkin, a torch and a huge mouse!
Here is the back view of the house.
Here, there is the side with Groll the Evil Troll, the grandfather clock, the other live pumpkin and the huge mouse.
On this side there is The Pumpkin Head Archer with the torch.
Here is the full view of the inside with better lighting.
Finally, here is a view from another angle.
So to finish off, I just want to say I love my haunted house and I am very proud of it! Here is a video showing it:

The Fall season, Halloween and Lego is awesome!
Helego! This weekend I took some really nice pictures that have a combination of fall, Halloween and Lego! So here they are!
The Fall leaves
Two pumpkins
Lego ghost and vampire in front of a pumpkin!
Lego ghost and vampire on top of a pumpkin in the leaves!
Pumpkin in the leaves
Another closer look of the vampire and ghost on the pumpkin
Did you like these pictures? I think they are very nice and I thought you might like them! It's fun putting Lego in the world around you. I find it sort of gives it more character. It also helps you get inspired to make more Lego creations! Also, with the leaves and everything it just makes it look very nice. These pictures really put me in the mood for Halloween and building!

Lego Make and Take event October 27 2012
Helego! Today was the Make and Take event at Toys R Us! It was part of the Bricktober month. What you did is that you built a model and you could bring it home with you! Check it out!
Scary October monster #2
Helego! Today I am going to show you guys the second monster I made! This one is one of my personal favourites and I made him! His name is The Pumpkin Head Archer!
As you can see, he is very cool! He has a pumpkin head, an archer suit that looks like robin hood's and he has a missing hand.
His
story is that he was once a peaceful archer that lived to serve and
protect his kingdom. He was a man that only did good. On one fine
Halloween night, when he was in a pumpkin patch, all the pumpkins started
to form carved glowing faces. It was very weird. All of a sudden, they
jumped out of the ground and grew arms and legs with their roots. They
started attacking him. There were thousands of them. Finally they were
to much and our archer was defeated. He got caught by the living
pumpkins. They cut his head off and replaced it by an evil pumpkin head.
The reason he has a missing hand is that at some point, he was attacking a
brave knight but the knight only managed to cut the evil pumpkin's hand
off. Now, he became crazy and wants revenge, so he hunts people at night. The end!
So did you like this story? I hope I didn't scare you to much! Halloween is in 4 days so watch out, maby he will try to catch you! ;)

October scary monster #1
Helego! This is the first monster for the month of October scary monster series! Today, I reveal to you... Groll the evil troll!
This is not one I made, he is from the castle theme. Unlike most trolls who live under a bridge, he hides under the roots of trees. When he hears you coming, he jumps out and attacks you! If he catches you and you can't escape, you will be part of his dinner! As you can see, he has big teeth, green skin, red eyes and stinks alot. He always has a chain with him to help him catch you! There is only one way to escape him and it's by succesfully completing his challenge. It is different every time he catches someone. But be careful, Groll is tricky and not honest!
So that is our scary monster #1! He is certainly one you do not want to meet alone in a spooky forest!

October is scary!
Helego! As we all know, October is the scariest month of the year! It also puts us, Lego fans, in the mood for the Lego Monster Fighters theme! As you know, I did a review of the rare ghost and grandfather clock polybag and so I have created my own collection of monsters! The fact that Halloween is coming up really made me want to make monsters!
I will be introducing every one of them all along the month of October! Some are custom and some are from a Lego set (like the ghost). I hope you guys will like theses minifigures as much as I do!

Lego water scene
Helego! I made this scene in Lego. It's basically a big lake with a small island with a boat and a swimmer. Check it out!
Here is a better look at the boat
Here is a better look at the boat
Here is a much better look at the swimmer! Here is a tip and trick. If you want to make it look like your minifigure is swimming, simply take the legs off and just put the head and body on the blue surface. That way it looks like his legs are in the water and he's swimming!
Here is a better look at that island part
I just felt like sharing it with you guys. I find it looks very nice and I will keep it up for display for a while. Keep on building!

Lego Star Wars Battle Orders app
Helego! Lego has lots of fun apps to download. But this would have to
be one of my favourites. The Lego Star Wars Battle Orders app!
In
the game, you basically have to conquer every planet of the enemy. You
can choose to take the light side or the dark side. Then you have a
series of levels with different planets to beat.
Choosing your level
Starting the game
So
you start with your home planet and the enemy, in this case a
storm trooper, has one to. You have to send your ships to other planets
to install a base. If the enemy is already there, you have to use tactic
and send in different ships to destroy his base and build yours instead.
Sending in a ship
I have conquered bases and in the process of conquering one. I am the blue bases and you can see a red one being destroyed.
Finally,
once you have conquered all of them, you win and go one to the next
level. Of course, each level is harder than the last.
So again I really like this game and I recommend it. It's lots of fun. And like all of Lego's apps, it's free! Have a great weekend!

Lego Star Wars Fun Zone app
Helego! As you know, Friday I did a post talking about the super
heroes app. Well, today I am going to look at the app Lego Star Wars fun
zone. I have missed alot of apps that Lego has been releasing so I'm on a
roll right now on posts about apps.
So this app is for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Basically it's the fun zone of the Lego Star Wars website
but without the games. It has cool creations and all the entertainment
like comics, short movies and TV commercials. The only disadvantage with
this app is that you need Internet connection to use it. You can also
log in with your Lego ID and post your creations directly threw the app.
You can see the number of likes you have and all that. You can also
view your favourite creations and comments that other people left on other
peoples creations. One thing that's cool is that you can download the
videos and comics so that you can view them off line. You can view all the comics and videos that are on the Lego Star Wars website. Also, it is updated since you need Internet connection. Here are some pictures of the app:
Menu Screen
Comics Section
Movie Section
TV Commercial Section
Cool Creations Section
I hope you liked this overview of the Lego Star Wars fun zone app and I will be doing more of theses posts next weekend. Have a great week!

Lego Super Heroes Movie Maker app
Helego! Have you ever wanted an easy and fast way to make stop motion videos? Well Lego made this app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
It's called as you probably already guessed by the title Lego Super Heroes Movie Maker. So first off, it's very simple to use. Here is the menu. As you can see, the big red button is to start making your movie, the blue button shows all the ones you have already made and the yellow button shows how the app works.
Once you are sure you are completley done, it will create the movie for you and after, you can save it to your photo gallery or upload it directly to youtube! Here is the final product of my video:

As you can see, the big red button is to start making your movie, the blue button shows all the ones you have already made and the yellow button shows how the app works.
This is the movie gallery
So, when you start making your video, you have to select a title screen and put in a title:
Once you have done that, you can right away start taking your pictures. Start by thinking which characters you will use and a story line. I made it very basic. Captain America hitting an alien. So place everything together and take your first picture by tapping on the screen. This is what it looks like:
To be more precise, you can use a grid to keep your picture centered
You can also use "onion skin". This shows you the last picture you took in "ghost form" so that you can see how much you have moved your scene
Once you are done taking all your pictures, you press "done" of course and then if you want, you can add some music, frames with a word like "POW" and select the number of pictures per second.
Once you are sure you are completley done, it will create the movie for you and after, you can save it to your photo gallery or upload it directly to youtube! Here is the final product of my video:
I will be doing more posts about recent Lego apps like this. It's easier and it's more of quality than when I do it with a video in the dark. So I hope you have lot's of fun with this app!
