How To Build A Easter Bunny

Lego MOC: Easter bunny

Hellego! Next weekend is Easter so I thought to spice things up I would make an Easter bunny!

This was a very long but fun build. I kept having to change different things. The face was hard to do because I wasn't very sure how to make the eyes and the mouth. As you can see I combined the mouth part with the nose and just put printed bricks with eyes. I was really glade that I was able to use a bit of Technic pieces for the tail. The only thing I don't really like is how the arms turned out but they do the job!

To make it really an Easter bunny, I gave him a basket with eggs in it.

Of course it is possible to have it just as a regular rabbit.

Here is a back view of him with his tail.

I hope you guys like this MOC! Don't forget to share this post and subscribe to my blog!

Lego Magazine Issue 2, 2013 "Review"

Hellego! I usually don't talk much about the Lego magazine but I thought that this new issue for the months of March-April 2013 was really good.

First off, you can right away tell that Lego has put much more time and quality in the magazine. There is a good ratio of comics, news, info and cool creations. Sometimes they put too much of a certain thing. This time, they did it just right. Also, something I thought was really cool is they included a small Lego Star Wars booklet with it.

It contains a long comic, which by the way has a great story. It also contains some info on certain Lego Star Wars sets, an interview with a designer at Lego Star Wars and a look at all the new 2013 Lego Star Wars minifigures! How cool is that?

If you have not gotten the magazine yet I'm telling you in advance that it is going to be worth the wait! If you are not subscribed to it, I highly suggest you do. It's free and you get exclusive content!

Lego has reduced their box size and goes green!

Hellego! I have very interesting news for you in this post! Lego is now making their boxes for Lego sets smaller!

They are doing this to help the environment. By making this action, Lego is reducing their CO2 consumption by 10% and will save about 18% of the cardboard they use. They have already started and they say that by 2015, all boxes will be smaller. But don't worry, the sets will still contain the same amount of pieces. ;)

The cardboard used in these new boxes will also have an FSC certification. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. This means that the cardboard and materials needed to make it are certified to come from sustainable forests.

In 2012, Lego had already reduced their quantity of pollution by about 4,1% with ways that are not necessarily visible by consumers. They have also bought a wind park which uses renewable energy. The energy that they will save with the wind park is the equivalent of the annual consumption of 100,000 houses!

I went to Toys R Us the other day and I already noticed the size change for a few sets. The Technic Tractor for example, was much smaller. Here is a picture with my hand on it to give you an idea of the size.

This set contains 353 pieces so the size of the box is "small" for that number of pieces. Usually, it would probably be about three times my hand. I noticed this on a few other sets, but not all sets are like that yet. Like I wrote previously, this change will only be complete in 2015.

So what do you guys think? I think that it is awesome of Lego to do that. I am somebody who cares about the environment so it's nice to see that one of my favourite companies is contributing to it. Next, it also has an advantage for us consumers because first, it will make it possible to store more Lego boxes. Second, when you will feel the box, it will be filled completely, giving you the awesome feeling that there are much more pieces than there really is. Also, this will also give a good image to Lego. It will show that they are a caring company and take pride in what they do. All in all I think this is a win-win situation and a great decision from Lego.

Lego MOC: Galactic Satellite

Hellego! I was recently in the mood for futuristic Lego and space. I also was fond about all the futuristic look clear pieces had. So I made a Galactic Satellite! A spaceship with a huge satellite on it!

First, for the opening cockpit I used a piece from a vintage spaceship and I put a few control panels inside. As you can see, on the side, I used slanted pieces to give a nicer look.

One part that was really hard to do was the connecting spot of the back with all the satellite equipment and the part with the cockpit. It took me a long time to figure out the perfect way to make it hold, while giving it a nice look. It required a lot of plate pieces.

Here is a picture with a closer look at the part that connects.

Here are some pictures of the back and the whole satellite part:

Finally, under the spaceship I put this long line of connecting reactors to give it extra power! ;)

I hope you guys like this new MOC of mine! Here is a video doing an overview of it!
